Quiet, shy, and reserved are three words every Buttermilk at Firefly Valley Farms can describe Ruelle as. Most of the time, the others who live there barely see her, and when she is around, she is so quiet that she tends to spook others when she does decide to speak. Ruelle is a very worrisome and panicky heifer and finds herself anxious almost all of the time. Her panicky nature also causes those around her to grow anxious, due to the fact she tends to blow the smallest things out of proportion.
She cannot help it, however, as she grew up always having to look over her shoulder constantly. Her family life was dysfunctional, as well as the social demographic in her town. Ruelle, growing up in a less fortunate area was no stranger to pain and suffering, and spent her whole life stuck in a whirlwind of sadness and torment. Being an only child, Ruelle thought life would be easy, but she was soon mistaken the older she became. Her family began to become abusive and controlling, taking complete advantage of Ruelle's existence. Living in such conditions made Ruelle resentful, as well as hateful toward the world and those around her. When seeing an ad in the news one day on Firefly Valley Farms, Ruelle began to save whatever money she could scrounge up from her waitressing jobs so she could get away from her family. It took many times of hiding and re-hiding her funds, but as soon as she had enough to get by, she packed her things and left in the dead of night. She still misses the Vancouver rain and the pier where she spent most her time after family skirmishes, but Firefly Valley immediately became her new safe haven, where she could put up as many fairly lights and lanterns as she pleases. Ruelle is very reserved and does not like to talk about her problems. She finds herself feeling like a burden to those around her, but is immediately stood corrected when her close friends come to her aid. She loves to read fantasy novels and even writes a bit herself. Her writing is a way to help her get the words she hides inside out on paper and allows her to find release in doing so. She also loves tea and trying new flavors, as well as spicy foods. Ruelle is not fond of staying indoors all of the time, so you will find her in the field writing her novels or picking daisies for her room. |
